The book draws on the same primary-source material catalogued here — archival documents, data, and interviews — and is where the fuller argument, analysis, and citation apparatus will appear.

The book is the primary scholarly output; this site is a working notebook and public record of the underlying material. Where the two differ — for instance, if further research changes an earlier reading of a document published here — the book’s analysis takes precedence, and this site will be updated to note the correction.
